How to Setup 2FA on Microsoft 365

Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and sign in as normal

 

You will see something like this

Please click the add Method if nothing is listed and you will get some options like the following

Lineal advising setting up an Authenticator App, Google Authenticator, Keeper Password Manager and Microsoft Authenticator are all secure and easy to use options.


 You may also use a phone number to receive SMS messages and/or phone calls.

Click "next" on this screen to setup MIcrosoft Authenticator, if you wanted to setup a different authentication app like Google Authenticator or Keeper Password Manager then click on "I want to use a different authenticator app".


On Microsoft Authenticator, you need to add an account, select 'Work or School' and then 'Scan QR Code'.

Then scan the QR code and then follow the onscreen steps to do your first authentication.


Once you are happy this is all setup, click on the top which says default sign in Method choose what you would like.
