How to Setup MFA on Microsoft 365

  1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
  2. Login with your Microsoft 365 as normal
  3. You will see something like this:
  4. Select 'Add sign-in method'
  5. Select 'Microsoft Authenticator'
  6. On your smartphone, download the Microsoft Authenticator app (it is available on both Apple iOS & Android). It will be free of charge and have the same blue padlock icon as in the screenshot below.
  7. Select 'Next'
  8. Select 'Next' again, until you are show a QR code
  9. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smart phone
  10. On the app, select the plus icon or the 'Add Account' button
  11. Select 'Work or school account'
  12. Select 'Scan QR Code'
  13. Scan the QR code shown on your screen
  14. This will add the account to the Microsoft Authenticator app and show you the account in the list
  15. Select 'Next'
  16. You will now be shown a number on screen, you will also be prompted on the phone to enter a number, enter that number into your phone
