- If you don't have Firefox already installed, it can be downloaded from here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/
- In the URL bar go to about:config
- If you get a warning about proceeding with caution, click 'Accept Risk and Continue'
- In the 'Search preference name' search bar, type 'network.ftp.enabled'
- If it then looks like the screenshot below, this means the setting record already exists, in this case, step 6 is not necessary - skip to step 7
- If it looks like the screenshot below, this means setting record does not already exist, in this case, select 'Boolean' and the + symbol on the right hand side
- If the value is set to 'false' then click the opposing arrows symbol on the right hand side, this will change the value to 'true'
- Now the value is created and set to true, go to the ftp link as you wish
